The wise words of Lao Tsu

*This too will pass * When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be * When you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to * Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage

Shennongjia (Part 1)

All of my friends really look after me very well here in China and since Mum's arrival she too has also been treated to many gifts, meals, outings etc. Everyone has been keen to give her a warm welcome. We were extremely lucky to be invited to visit Shennongjia. When you mention this place to most Chinese people, they reply by saying "Ahh yes, a place full of mysteries" Legend has it that a Yetti lives there along with many near extinct animals and plants. It is set amongst the mountains and is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. The drive there from Yichang City takes about 3 1/2 hours and the road is long and winding. Nettie supplied us both with a patch to wear to stop car sickness...I'm so glad she did...I never ever would have made it without that...I think you need to actually experience the drive to fully understand just how windy the road is.

Upon our arrival we were taken to a local restaurant for dinner. The food was great, the heating drum in the middle of the room keeps the guests warm and the food warm when it arrives.

This is our little friend we made at the restaurant. The owners said she never follows the guests around and never accepts food from anyone but themselves...She could not understand why the dog loved us so much...We had two meals here and both times she stayed with us :-) Very Cute!

Shennongjia is full of big things :

The Big stairs to get to Shennong (Just short of 1000 stair climb)
